Shuohuang Railway’s Cumulative Coal Transportation Volume Exceeded 5 billion Tonnes

As of April 10, 2025, as the second largest corridor for transporting coal from west China to east China, Shuohuang Railway has accomplished a remarkable cumulative coal transportation volume of 5.000087 billion tonnes, exceeding 5 billion tonnes for the first time.

Since its operation in 2000, Shuohuang Railway has played a pivotal role in the “cargos are carried by train instead of truck” multimodal transport system and as a strategic tie connecting energy resources from Shanxi Province, Shaanxi Province, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the Bohai Rim Port Cluster. It has continuously achieved a freight intensity exceeding 300 million tonnes for eight consecutive years, setting records in heavy-haul railway efficiency. Since the beginning of 2025, the Company has continued to enhance its lean management system, in order to facilitate development by improving quality and efficiency.

Facing the transformation of the energy transportation system in the new era, Shuohuang Railway has developed a comprehensive operational plan including “a blueprint”, “a communication & connection network” and “a management system”, centered on the three development cores of “service, driving force, and value creation”, and a dynamic health assessment model based on 27 key transport indicators. This has improved the precision of heavy-haul train operation plans to minute-level accuracy, allowing for flexible control of transportation and organization. By activating the synergy of Shuohuang, Huangwan, and Huangda Railways, and innovatively implementing a “scheduled operation” organization model, the Company has continuously enhanced equipment lifecycle management, with daily coal turnover maintained in the high million-tonne range. In the intelligent heavy-haul field, the Company’s self-developed moving block technology and 30-tonne axle load transport solutions are leading industry innovations, providing a replicable Shuohuang Railway solution for modern logistics systems in the heavy-haul railway sector.
