On November 28, the dredging works for Huanghua Port’s Phase V project successfully passed quality verification and acceptance review. This marks the first construction package within the Phase V project to achieve handover acceptance, pressing the “fast-forward button” for subsequent main facility construction.
To ensure efficient and high-quality progress, the project team deepened coordination in advance with maritime, ecological environment, and other relevant authorities, completing water area operation safety plans and environmental impact follow-up monitoring. The dredging employed a “grid division method” coupled with positioning and navigation equipment, achieving precise control over operations. This effectively minimized over-dredging and reduced environmental impact on adjacent waters. Facing challenges such as variable sea tides and limited working areas, the construction team scientifically scheduled activities, avoiding germplasm resource protection periods while implementing environmental impact monitoring. They completed approximately 2.77 million cubic meters of dredging, achieving simultaneous compliance of schedule, quality and ecology. Through advanced planning and scientific scheduling, the project completed its stage goal ahead of the original plan, successfully meeting the construction objectives of Two No Overruns and Three Zeros (no budget overrun, no schedule overrun; zero quality defects, zero safety incidents, zero environmental complaints). This sets a benchmark for all participating units in creating an “exemplary project”.
Currently, Huanghua Port’s Phase V project is advancing in all fronts with “high standards and high efficiency”, making every effort to ensure completion and commissioning on schedule. Once fully operational, Huanghua Port will further leverage its role as a strategic pivot of the Golden Waterway, providing more robust support for national energy transport security and regional economic synergetic development.
